- Rudder Leading Edge
Bob
was up again today so I used his help roll the leading edge of the
rudder. I used the edge forming tool I had used in the
practise kit to make sure the edges lay down when blind riveted
together.
We
struggled to start with as we put in too tight a bend using the
broomstick handle and following the instructions. We then
scratched our heads for a while and decided to 'get on with it' by
not being so tight with the roll and using hands 'yes hands' to
form the roll where it was required. It went a lot easier
that way with plenty of enough material to make the join in the
middle once the rolls were gradual enough

09/12/2007 - Left Elevator - Trim Tab
The
next tricky piece today was to start to fold the ears on the trim
tab (I had bought two of these just in case :-)) But what
can I say they folded really well and I am chuffed with the
result....spare trim tab anyone ?? The first picture looks
like there is a bend in the middle where the light catches it but
you cant see it when you look at it normally. 2nd photos
shows this.

Left elevator ears are next !
and I don't have a spare for that !!!
